Long flowering I provide a colourful display with magnificent blooms through spring and summer.
I will perform at my best in full sun or slightly shaded position with a well-drained soil. I dislike damp or constantly wet soils.
I die off during the winter but will regrow from my tubers when the weather warms in the spring.
My round blooms come in a whole rainbow of colours and vary in size from about 50mmm to a huge 200mm.
I am just as happy growing in a pot as I am garden planted.
In damper soils I benefit from having my bulbs lifted and stored while I am dormant and replanted at the beginning of spring.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My flashy generous blooms bring colour to the garden making me a great accent plant
Flowering in spring and summer I am an excellent cut flower
Adaptable I am just as happy growing in a pot as I am planted out in the garden
