I am Bush Inferno Kangaroo Paw. My family originated from South Western Australia.

I am a compact medium sized Kangaroo Paw that forms a good sized clump. I produce bold red large flower heads, mainly in spring and summer and spot flower at other times. I am excellent at attracting birds to the garden I make a great and long lived cut flower. I enjoy hot Mediterranean climates and am not as vigorous in humid climates where I do better when grown in pots. I will perform at my best if you feed me before flowering with a quality slow release fertiliser. Removing spent flowers and foliage at the base will improve my appearance and improve airflow from which I will benefit.

I am well suited for pots and large containers and look great mass planted in the garden
I produce masses of velvety red flowers mostly in spring. I am a great cut flower
My long lived blooms attract honey eaters and other small nectar feeding birds
Features
I thrive in full sun and tolerate partial shade
Height: 0.6m Width: 0.45m(Size at point of sale approx. 50cm including pot)
I need minimal water once established and tolerate light drought
I do well in most soils but thrive in sandy soils. Hardy I tolerate extremes of temperature

Tips for success

Fertilise me regularly and cut back spent flowers to keep me looking at my best

Plant at least 0.3m apart.

If my flower buds droop this is an indication that I need some more water

Choose a full sun to partly shaded position.

Water regularly while establishing, then check soil moisture before watering.
