I am a range of tuberous perennials from South America.
I flower prolifically in all but the coldest months with blooms in a range of bright colours with distinctive dark speckles.
My different varieties come in almost every colour imaginable and are trumpet shaped with dark speckles down the throat.
Careful breeding has resulted in my more compact form making me a great addition to garden beds, borders and rockeries, combining well with other plants.
I make excellent cut flowers to enjoy indoors.
Hardy, I tolerate frost, dry conditions and a range of different soils. I become dormant when excessively dry but bounce back quickly when provided with moisture.
Avoid water-logged soils.
Caution: Skin irritant
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I bloom continuously and prolifically for 9 months of the year with varieties in many vibrant colours
Easy to grow with a small rounded form I am ideal for rockeries, borders and beside pathways
I am just as happy in pots and containers as I am planted out in the garden
